SUMMER BAND CONCERTS

Escanaba's own City Band
will perform each Wednesday evening throughout the summer at the Karas
Memorial Bandshell in Ludington Park at 7:30 p.m. beginning June 22nd - August 17th.
JULY 4TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION & FAMILY
DAY IN LUDINGTON PARK
Escanaba's July 4th celebration will held in Ludington Park starting
with the Exchange Club's "Family Day in the Park" activities
which include traditional children's games, music, entertainment and
plenty of good food throughout the day. Jazz Concert by Bay Jazz Band,
and the Escanaba City Band will conduct an
Independence Day Concert at the Bandshell. The day will conclude with a
large fireworks display in Ludington Park at dusk.
FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL
Its a party for all to enjoy - the Delta Area Folk
Traditions (D.A.F.T.) Music Festival, Saturday, July 2 from 10:00 am - 10:30 pm,
will be an all-day celebration for the whole family. Held in
Ludington Park's picturesque lakefront setting, the festival will
feature traditional, blues, bluegrass, singer-songwriter, celtic and
acoustic music, craft exhibits, food vendors, and a children's area.
It's free, although donations will be accepted to
fund future D.A.F.T. festivals. Come join your neighbors, and old
and new friends, for a day in the park that's just a little D.A.F.T.
U.P. VINTAGE TIN ANTIQUE CAR SHOW
To be held Sunday, July 3 in Ludington Park from
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. This annual event attracts a unique
gathering of classic autos and hundreds of enthusiasts. Sponsored by the
U.P. Vintage Tin Car Club.
SLAMFEST VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
To be held Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 at
Ludington Park. This is the Gus Macker of volleyball;
registration forms available at the Civic Center and the Chamber of
Commerce. Forms must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce.

RUMBLE IN THE U.P.
To be held August 5th - 7th at the UP State Fair Grounds.
Come join the 1,500+ motorcycle enthusiasts for a celebration including
parades, tours, a 'Showing of Iron', dances and much more! For more

WATERFRONT ARTS FESTIVAL
This annual, judged arts show attracts artists and
artisans from across the midwest. To be held Saturday, August 6th at the
Bandshell Area of Ludington Park. The Bonifas invites young
artists to join the Waterfront Arts Festival by setting up a booth and
selling their wares and artwork. Call the Bonifas Fine Arts Center, 786-3833.
MICHIGAN-WISCONSIN TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Upper Peninsula's largest and oldest tennis
tournament scheduled for August 6th - August 7th, with
tournament headquarters in Ludington Park in the pavilion.
Various skill levels and age divisions for youth
players. Check local media for further information.
FLW EVERSTART BASS TOURNAMENT
The FLW Everstart Bass Tournament will be held August 24 - 27, 2005.
This is the first Pro-Am Bass tournament to be held on Little Bay de Noc.

MASON'S CHILDRENS FISHING TOURNAMENT
Tournament scheduled for July 16th. A popular children's
fishing event with instruction, food and prizes. This is an excellent opportunity
to experience the joy of fishing.
SCHOONER "INLAND SEAS"
The Great Lakes schooner "Inland Seas" is returning
to Escanaba and Little Bay de Noc July 11-17 to provide youth and adults
with hands-on environmental and science programs. Detailed information to
