The City of Escanaba City Council is made up of five members who are elected by the voters.  Council members serve staggered four-year terms. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, who serves in the Mayor’s absence, is selected by the Council members.

The City Council is responsible for policy-making, while the City Manager, who is appointed by City Council, is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City. 

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend meetings of the City Council.  Regular meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month, unless re-scheduled for a holiday.
