The Treasurer’s Office provides assistance to the public with the following:

  • Accepting payments for utility bills, taxes, special assessments, parking tickets, City work orders, marina slips, and other fees.
  • Addressing questions regarding collection actions for delinquent accounts of all types.
  • Handling matters related to the management of the Public Safety Retirement Plan.
  • Responding to inquiries about the City’s Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund.

 

Special Notices

Payment Drop Box

The Treasurer’s Office provides a convenient payment drop box, accessible by automobile, located on the west side of the City Hall building. You can use the drop box to pay any City of Escanaba bills. It is available 24 hours a day. Please do not deposit cash in the drop box, and be sure to clearly indicate the account number related to your payment.

Summer Taxes

Summer taxes become payable on or about July 10th, and may be paid through September 15th without late fees. September 16th through February 28th, summer taxes are payable with a four percent (4%) late fee. After February 28th, of the following year, real property taxes must be paid to the Delta County Treasure's Office with an additional 4% penalty, Administration Fees, and Interest at 1% per month.

Winter Taxes

Winter taxes become payable on or about December 10th and are payable before February 15th without penalty. February 16th through February 28th winter taxes are subject to 3% penalty. After February 28th unpaid winter taxes are turned over to Delta County for collection.

Parking Violations

Parking tickets can be paid at the Treasurer’s Office. To avoid additional fines, please ensure prompt payment.
