City Issued Carts

Each customer is issued:

• 1- 95 gallon garbage cart
• 1 - 65 gallon recycle cart

If you find that you need more than one cart, you can purchase a second cart for a one time fee at the Utility Office in City Hall. Cans are designed to be picked up by the automated truck. Other trash containers can't be picked up by our truck. 

​Cart Maintenance & Care

• Keep the cart's lid closed to deter insects and animals.
• Do not overload your cart.
• Wash your cart out with regular soap and water.
• Store your cart in a cool place away from direct sunlight and other exposures to heat.
• Keep items that decompose quickly in a cool place until collection day.

If your cart needs to be replaced or repaired, please call Public Works at 786-1842.

Stolen Cart

If you believe your cart to be stolen, a police report must be filed with the City of Escanaba Public Safety Department in order to receive a replacement cart.  Call 786-5911.
