Garbage Tag

There are a number of reasons your garbage or recycling may have been missed, the most common reasons are:

  • Cart was not out in the designated area before 6:30 am.
  • Cart was not set out correctly or was blocked by something.
  • Cart was too full to be picked up.
  • Cart contained items that are not allowed for collection.
  • On holiday weeks, the schedule is delayed.
  • The recycle schedule is based on a 4 week schedule, some months have 5 weeks.

Please note that your garbage or recycling may not be picked up if the guidelines for collection are not followed.  The sanitation operator will place a bright orange tag on your can if there is an issue that impedes the truck from collecting your garbage.  Please follow the instructions on the tag to comply with our collection guidelines.  If this happens, your cart will be emptied at the next scheduled pick up time if guidelines are followed.
